What:
A week-long, hands-on, experiential, overnight summer program for high school students to explore what the future holds in the real world. You’ll develop skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication while making decisions that are required in real-life work situations. You;ll be part of a management team of 8-12 participants charged with the task of turning your “company” into a financial success. At the end-of-the-wee, after developing a marketing strategy, you’ll compete in a Trade Show and make a Stockholder’s presentation. Each company is matched with a “Company Advisor,” a volunteer mentor from the related business community, who serves as a guide through the week.
Who:
Any current high school student grade 9-12 (including graduating seniors during the 2009-2010 school year) residing in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Alaska.
When & Where:
The program is held at four university campuses.
- June 20-26 Western Washington University in Bellingham
- July 11-17 Gonzaga University in Spokane
- July 18-24 Central Washington University in Ellensburg
- August 1-7 Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma

Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Lynda Schlosser in Rooms 218 or 219 or you may go to http://www.wbw.org to register online. There is a brochure you may download to see the dates and location each week will premiere and it will answer more of your questions.
Cost? Each accepted student will receive a sponsorship of $625 donated from a Washington business or community organization to attend. Students are asked to pay a registration fee of only $325. For those who qualify, there is some financial assistance available. You may contact Washington Business Week at 800.686.6442 if you have questions about the registration fee. Early bird registration deadline is May 1, 2010; financial assistance deadline is May 1, 2010; and the final registration deadline is June 4, 2010.
